Wow, I just love reading your thoughts! They are so inspiring and right on! Yeah, our art is at least a part of us that we give out to the world ... good, bad or ugly ... it is ours. I think that all true artists always have that lovely thought insi…

One of my problems is my ADD, I start one and get a 1/3 of the way done, and I'm on to the next only because inspiration and ADD has filled my head. Who knows I may chop my ear off next. LOL

This was so wonderful and interesting to read, I wish I had more time to comment, but did want to say Thanks for posting it. :)

Wonderful piece! The composition is excellent and I love how the colors blend each object together and makes it feel like an old comic book ... oh you know what I mean! It is very rich.

So Brahma, you are a bull! I also took interest to your work. It is awesome in the sense that it is different and struck me! You and I seem to be kindred spirits, in that we are in to the art for arts sake! I was told once, when a known artist that…

This one grabbed my eye (not that the others don't LOL) It's very warm and soothing. When I look at this I think of distant cultures.

About Me

Meeting other artists and sharing ideas is of the utmost importance for me to keep inspired and seek new horizons. As a self-taught artist I welcome all criticism of my work, both good and bad. I'm an abstract painter working with intuitive processes. At the moment, process is more important to me than the final product. Experimentation and working intuitively just seems to fit my spirit. I feel comfortable being an art outsider (meaning that I've had no formal training) and seek to improve with each new work. If I could give one bit of advice to any beginning artist it would be to not let anyone step on your artistic dream.

How Bad Or How Good Is Our Art?

In the cramped place I call my studio I was having a bad day. Nothing was turning out well with my painting. To add to my misery my work was moving slowly. It was one of those moments where I doubted that I have what it takes to be an artist. I began to ask myself how bad is my work? How good is my work?

If you have ever been at this juncture consider this: We are never as good as our best work and we are never as bad as our worst work. Think about it. Our best work came about on those days whe… Continue

The Art That Is Ours

I suspect that all artists who paint – those who paint for money, those who paint for pleasure, and those who fall somewhere in between – harbor a secret ambition of one day seeing their works on the walls of big time galleries and museums (Well, maybe not all of us), as if perhaps we could thereby add a mite to our immortality.

That, if anything doesn't explain the “why” of my work. I paint because I want to, and at the urging of many people, my wife, my website acquaintances, and an old curmu… Continue

Brahma, where are you? I miss you. I hope you are in a good space and you are not letting dirty dogs get you down. If you need a good third party to rant to ... you know where we all are! Stay strong.

Thank you for the comment, and for the way you wrote it too! Very nice and descriptive, that kind of either praise or criticism will help in future works. And also I pretty much love every artwork you post which makes it even more flattering when artist like yourself says anything nice about my work :)

A Caribbean Holiday Celebration!

A Caribbean Celebration

Some of my friends in Administration have recently asked me to tell them how
we celebrate the holidays in my country, Puerto Rico.

I’m sure it would seem simple to just say: “Well, we put up a tree, sing songs around it, eat lots and lots of food made by our moms and aunts and grannies and have gifts under the tree for the little ones. And that would be true, we do all that because that is part of all the good and sometimes bad stuff we have inherited fro… Continue
