WATERCOLOR TIPS & TRICKS PALETTE & BRUSHES ~ ALL LEVELS

This Video is BASED ON REQUESTS AND MY SYLLABUS and covers Palette management, and brush choices and more. This Video is BASED ON REQUESTS AND MY SYLLABUS: How to choose the amount of water vs watercolor. Making your tubed watercolors last longer. Some color theory. Salt designs. and more . Hi Everyone, This video is about repairing 'mistakes' you make in the process of watercolor painting. It's amazing how many watercolor accidents can be fixed. It is best to practice some of the techniques you need before you actually NEED them. The technique of 'lifting' works best on non-staining watercolors. However, I do show techniques that will work for staining watercolors as well. Enjoy! Susie Hi Everyone, This is the first part of two videos. This one is about is about using masking fluid and a bit about erasing pencil marks after drawing and painting. Make sure the masking fluid is dry before you paint over it and don't leave it longer than 24 hours before you remove it. It settles so shake it, if it bubbles, you will need to let it set awhile until the bubbles are mostly gone and then paint it on the area you want to protect. If bubbles do appear when you paint it on paper, pop them with your brush. If they pop after you have painted over it, the paint can get through it. This is the second part which talks about transparent and opaque watercolors and how to test the ones that you have now. Enjoy! Hi Everyone, This video is about using software to make your art photos that you put online look as good as your art in real life. This is PART ONE and there is also PART TWO. Also, I am covering the artist statement, important info to include with your online photos. It's about cropping, getting the color correct, focusing, etc. Please join me in my FREE online watercolor class that is for all levels. It's for beginner, intermediate and advanced, and you can join anytime.

Hi Everyone, This is part two. If you can see these full sized it is easier to see the words in PSPX2

Hi Everyone, this is my fast foward video of me painting two baby macaws, it's only 6 mins long.. kind of fun to watch.

Okay. I decided upload my watercolor video on You Tube again. I can't make it better and I worked too hard to trash it no matter what my critical son thinks! :O)

Hi Susie, I thought I'd post a piece that just made as an assignment for school. We're not studying water colours as such, but colour in general. Using water colours as a medium. The assignment was making a Madonna or Mary figure with the colours ultramarine, vermillion and gold.

I had problems making a smooth flowing background, but I'm quite pleased with the result.

Hi Monice, Your painting has great colors and the sky is beautiful, the kind of sky that only watercolors can do!! If you want to loosen up some edges, you might try putting some water on them first and letting it soak in, then blotting it with tissues. next step to try would be to let the water soak in and then scrub gently then blot with tissues, the next step could be gently sanding the edges with sand paper, and then maybe some more water. Just allow time in between each step so nothing is overdone. xxsusie

Hi Susie. Sorry to hear about your "situation". I hope it all works out for the best. I'm happy to contribute what I can in the meantime. I've done another seascape, this time trying to incorporate some cool sky effects. There's some hard edges I'm going to try to scrub out to soften them, but essentially, fini.

A Caribbean Holiday Celebration!

A Caribbean Celebration

Some of my friends in Administration have recently asked me to tell them how
we celebrate the holidays in my country, Puerto Rico.

I’m sure it would seem simple to just say: “Well, we put up a tree, sing songs around it, eat lots and lots of food made by our moms and aunts and grannies and have gifts under the tree for the little ones. And that would be true, we do all that because that is part of all the good and sometimes bad stuff we have inherited fro… Continue
