Mixed Media Workshops

Art & craft workshops online in all mediums

We are looking for member input as to what classes/workshops you would like to take. We are always looking for more instructors in various mediums, so if you know of someone who likes to teach....have them join us!

What about you? What would you like to learn how to do in the arts and crafts area?

Maria,

I am covering some surface techniques in my Mixed Media Workshop/Class. If you are interested....you can sign up for it on the Home page. Right now the class is still in the center column, but as we add more classes, it will probably get moved to the secondary WORKSHOPS page.

Just wanted to let you know.......

Deb I'd really like to learn portraiture, how people really look not manga or the latest cool big eye little lip thing. Portraits, does anyone out there still know how to do them???? Not trying to be ugly just honest.

We have a fellow lined up to teach portraiture drawing and once you see his work, you will pee your pants. The guy is phenomenal! I've been after him for months now, and he's been busy at school.

Just heard from him today, however, and he's free for a bit and going to be working on his drawing class. I told him that we had people chomping at the bit in here who want to learn to draw faces......so I'm hoping he'll have something for us REAL soon!

Okay if you can get him online I'm in. Another thing I'm interested in learning these days is pen and ink drawing with a dip pen. Don't know would that translate well to a video? I guess if it is obtuse, arcane, or downright old school I'm intrigued by it.

Irv I really wish it could be you. I've watched your videos been to your website and you are it, unfortunately I live in Austin, TX not Florida so it probably needs to be online. And I have certainly learned from watching your other videos. At least give some serious thought to it. Please......

Jlyne, I don't know if you are a member of Michele's Drawing by Observing class or not, but you could join that for free and suggest some botanical drawings to her.

Encaustic WOULD be a good class to have here, I agree!

A Caribbean Holiday Celebration!

A Caribbean Celebration

Some of my friends in Administration have recently asked me to tell them how
we celebrate the holidays in my country, Puerto Rico.

I’m sure it would seem simple to just say: “Well, we put up a tree, sing songs around it, eat lots and lots of food made by our moms and aunts and grannies and have gifts under the tree for the little ones. And that would be true, we do all that because that is part of all the good and sometimes bad stuff we have inherited fro… Continue
