What about you? What would you like to learn how to do in the arts and crafts area?

Hi Deb, too funny about your ring, I can see that as me. I think there are way too many tiny pieces that I'd have to try and deal with i.e. seeing them, so I'd be the frustrated one throwing the jewelry everywhere!

I'd like to learn painting silk.
I have taken many pottery classes and have YET to master it, it is a very difficult medium, one with patience and attention to self control, which I don't have much of.

Painting trompe l' eau

Oh, And p.s. STop fooling us about you being over 50, I DON"T believe it for one second!

Snort, guffaw! I WISH I were only 50. You have to keep in mind that I slather on the make-up with a trowel when I make my videos, ensure that the lighting isn't directly on my face, and hope that the videos aren't high def enough to expose the truth. :D I'm NOT making this up.

I tried the silk painting a few years ago. Also pottery. Do not have the patience for either. Even watercolor these days is difficult for me to do because of the planning required when doing realistic type paintings.

You are painting a trompe l'eau? What does that mean?

I swear to god, I am in such a state of confusion today. I'm expecting the van to show up to haul me off to the looney bin.....

I'd like to learn how to paint Trompe l'eau, LOL I've only done one and it was of a piece of paper painting stuck to a wall with tape.

"Oh no, someone dressed in white is at my door.!!!"

For the love of pete...you were answering my question---what would you like to learn. Okay, now I get it.

Trompe l'eau? Is that a watercolor form of trompe l'oiel? I tried searching for it online but everything was in French....LOL!

Eau is the French word for water, but that's all I remember from my French classes.

Deb, Are you around? I wanted to chat or im with you, do you have that feature here? If not come to my pad, or add it here, if your on. :)

Trompe el leau' I dunno how you spell the freekin word but,

fools the eye". It is the use of painting techniques to create an illusion of textured surfaces as well as to give three dimensional appearances to flat walls and ceilings, or on paper/canvas. Through the use of shading, artists are able to produce these desired three dimensional effects.

I'm seriously thinking of teaching an Encaustic class, but would like to find out how much interest there would be for this type of class.

I would love to.. Maybe around august tho as i have nephews here for summer..

Hi Darlene, I would be interested in an encaustic class. I bought some wax medium to get started, but I was warned about needing a ventilation system so I put it aside until I could come up with a solution. I think I have one now. I just have to rig it up :o]
My son is having surgery Aug 6. So I would not be available for a class until a week or so after that.
